Description:
The India China war of 1962 part 1 is presented by Parag shah of Global Mavericks his video magazine using clips of the 1963 film 'Haqeeqat' war documentary of actual events that occurred in the conflict.
In 1962 China invades India's northern region of Ladakh. Indian border outposts are overrun by the massive heavily armed Chinese Red Army supported by artillery in a surprise attack. The small lightly armed Indian units guarding the outposts fight valiantly against overwhelming odds but are eventually overrun and forced to retreat. The Chinese are eventually held back when the Indians regroup and counter attack. China till present day still occupies the captured region belonging to India.
Background pre-1962 War
British leave India and her administered territories. Tibet once under British India trust is invaded by communist China in 1950's. Tibet government in exile is formed in India. Tibet has always had strong cultural and religious ties to North eastern border states of India, and the Hindu kingdom of Nepal. India supports the freedom of Tibet from Chinese occupation.
China and India make diplomatic moves in peace talks for the freedom of Tibet and human rights for the Tibetans. Several months before the India China conflict; Chinese leadership including Mao visit India for the beginning of warmer ties between the two countries. The deception of Chinese true intent becomes clear when Chinese troops attempt to provoke Indian frontier outpost units into a firefight. India restrains. China eventually invades, capturing Indian territory.
Present day
India claims the removal of Chinese troops from the occupied territory of India and the freedom of Tibet. India wants human rights violation and eradication of Tibetan culture by the Chinese occupiers to stop immediately. The repatriation of the Tibetan government and Dali Lama to control of their homeland.
Other notes
China had Invaded India. India U.S. relations were at its height. U.S. President Kennedy gave unconditional support to India. Prime Minister Nehru and President Kennedy developed strong relations, unfortunately the full and potential Indo-U.S. relations were never realized due to the Assassination of President Kennedy along width eventual geo-political shifts of administrations and policy.
Haqeeqat motion picture war documentary was a true and wonderful masterpiece depicting historical events of our time.
